We produce silk fabrics using the most advanced hand weaving techniques on traditional high looms. We are also a workshop that has been researching traditional nishiki brocades for over 100 years and working to preserve the textile culture into the future. We produce a wide range of products, including brocade art works that can be decorated like paintings, as well as bags, ties, pouches, and other small items crafted from honbukuro obi and brocade. We manufacture textiles with a focus on delicate and intricate techniques, colors, and beautiful weaves. KOHO produces traditional nishiki brocades through environmentally friendly and sustainable methods. Our handmade textiles minimize waste, and we are striving to transfer valuable resources and textile techniques that have been used for over 1,000 years to the next generation. Area of Interest

"Nishiki": the pinnacle of Japanese beauty. We are a textile workshop that aspires to and exceeds the “beauty of brocade” with traditional textile techniques inherited over four generations: Heizo Tatsumura I (Koha), Heizo Tatsumura II (Kosho), textile artist Koho Tatsumura, and brocade artist Amane Tatsumura. Every piece is completed through 12 major processes, and more than 70 craftsmen are involved. Amane Tatsumura’s job is to direct these craftsmen, bringing out and uniting the best of their skills into elegant works of art. Our strength is our uncompromising craftsmanship, which is only possible through our ability to work with and direct these craftsmen.
