Kiyomizuyaki ware is one of Kyoto’s representative traditional handicrafts, developed alongside the city’s rich history, traditions, and culture. Located in front of Kiyomizudera Temple since its foundation in 1932, we have specialized in Kyoyaki and Kiyomizuyaki ware over generations.
A few years ago, we opened Seigado-Kobo Tokokukama kiln along Chawanzaka, another approach to Kiyomizudera Temple, to produce original works.
“Provide those who are not familiar with traditional handcrafts with opportunities to enjoy Kyoyaki and Kiyomizuyaki ware.”
This is our motto as we aim to produce pottery that enriches people’s daily lives in a more casual manner, maintaining the aesthetics of Kyoto ware with our established techniques.
