Schwann cells (cells that form the myelin sheath covering the nerve axon) are known to promote " regeneration, repair, and growth of nerves.
However, until now, it has been difficult to prepare Schwann cells in large quantities so it has not been practically available as a medical therapy.
We have established mass production method from iPS/ES cells, so we are now promoting the world's first cell therapy with Schwann cells with Kyoto University School of Medicine. Area of Interest
